Vice President Joe Biden is set to speak in Nashville on Thursday during the annual gathering of the National League of Cities.

"We are honored to have Vice President Biden address the thousands of city officials that will convene in Nashville next week for the Congress of Cities,” said National League of Cities President and Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker in a news release.

"The National League of Cities represents cities and towns of all sizes, and our members are eager to hear the vice president address the issues that matter most to cities.”

Biden will speak at the Music City Center during the "Congress of Cities and Exposition" for the National League of Cities, an advocacy organization representing locally elected officials from across the country. He's expected to speak sometime between 1:30 and 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Biden offers solace to families of Chattanooga victims

The trip marks the vice president's second appearance in Tennessee in recent months. In August, Biden delivered a heartfelt speech in Chattanooga after a gunman shot and killed five service members.
