Small Business Saturday helps Nashville nonprofits, too

Jen Todd
USA TODAY NETWORK – Tennessee

Small Business Saturday shoppers can support local businesses and nonprofits in one stop.

Parnassus Books will participate in IndieNashGiving on Small Business Saturday by benefiting Book 'Em and the Nashville Humane Association.

The IndieNashGiving movement encourages Nashvillians to shop at small businesses; in turn, several local businesses will donate a portion of the day's sales to nonprofit organizations.

More than 30 businesses will participate Saturday, including Bongo Java, supporting Second Harvest Food Bank and Hands on Nashville; Parnassus Books, supporting Book 'Em and the Nashville Humane Association; and Willow Pilates + Core Fitness, supporting Middle Tennessee Golden Retriever Rescue.

Parnassus Books owners Karen Hayes and Ann Patchett led the charge with the Nashville Independent Business Alliance.
