One of Nashville’s most popular food trucks has landed a permanent home in Hillsboro Village.

The Grilled Cheeserie plans to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant this fall in the former Sunset Grill building at 2001 Belcourt Ave. after Nashville restaurant group Fresh Hospitality purchased the site last year for $2.7 million. Tabitha Ong Tune, a spokeswoman for The Grilled Cheeserie, confirmed the news via email Wednesday. Additional details about the project were not immediately available.

The move to open a brick-and-mortar comes five-and-a-half years after husband and wife team Joseph Bogan and Crystal De Luna-Bogan debuted the food truck in East Nashville, where it quickly became a hit.

Also opening at the building is Biscuit Love, which similarly went from food truck to brick-and-mortar when it opened in a restaurant in the Gulch in early 2015. The biscuit house regularly has customers lined down the block.

De Luna-Bogan told The Tennessean last year that she fell in love with the food truck concept in Los Angeles, which is widely considered the birthplace of the modern street food trend before it spread to other U.S. cities.

The Grilled Cheeserie serves a menu of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and seasonal tomato soup. Along with customizable sandwiches, including a vegan option, the truck has specialty melts such as the Pimento Mac & Chee with house-made pimento cheese, cheddar, macaroni, bacon bits and sliced tomato on country white bread.

In 2013, The Grilled Cheeserie was featured on the hit Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

Sunset Grill closed at the end of 2014 after a 24-year run. Fresh Hospitality previously announced plans to subdivide the building into several restaurant concepts.
