Nashville drummer Julian Dorio was performing Friday night with Eagles of Death Metal in Paris at the club where the deadly terrorist attack took place. Dorio is OK, according to a report in the Washington Post.

Dorio’s wife, Emily,  told the newspaper she was able to speak briefly to her husband, who told her he loved her and that he was safe.

Dorio also performs in the Georgia band the Whigs. Earlier today, he tweeted via Instagram, “There’s nothing quite like Paris via bicycle.” Dorio added that he missed his wife.

Memphis native Dave Catching, a quitarist for the Eagles of Death Metal, was also performing Friday at the Paris venue, according to The Commercial Appeal.

More than 100 people are reported dead at the Bataclan, the popular Parisian concert venue, according to various media reports.

Paris attacks: Eagles of Death Metal escape gunfire

The Eagles of Death Metal are a popular independent rock band from California fronted by Jesse Hughes.

Hughes' brother, Ian Hughes, reportedly told friends that Jesse and the band escaped out of the back of the theater, headed to a Paris police station and were safe. The group's tech crew was accounted for as well, but it was not clear whether a sound man, who works in the audience, also got out safe.

Following news of the attacks at the Bataclan, social media lit up with speculation about the band. Music blog Brooklyn Vegan posted a story quoting a French band that the Eagles of Death Metal left safely.
