"American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest and Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt are partnering to build a new state of the art recording studio inside the hospital.

The Ryan Seacrest Foundation builds Seacrest Studios in children's hospitals across the country with the goal of aiding in the healing process. Patients are able to "explore the creative realms of radio, television and new media" in addition to watching and listening to original programming.

Seacrest Studios will be located on the second floor of the children's hospital inside the Butterfly Garden performance area. The 723-square-foot space, slated to open in 2016, will allow patients to see what is happening inside.

“It’s an honor and privilege to expand our studio footprint to Nashville,” said Ryan Seacrest. “Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt has fully embraced the spirit and intent of Seacrest Studios. We are confident that patients, their families, and the entire hospital community will benefit from the addition of our studio.”

In addition to having the opportunity to take part in the creative process, patients will be able to watch a closed-circuit feed of the entertainment programming from their hospital beds. A full-time programming manager will craft content by working with the music therapy program and other departments at the children's hospital.

“We are excited and honored to be selected as a site for Seacrest Studios,” Children's Hospital CEO Luke Gregory said. “The Ryan Seacrest Foundation and Seacrest Studios complement our mission for patient- and family-centered care to ensure our families feel engaged in all aspects of care and the healing process and to make Children’s Hospital a welcoming and inspirational place for every child.”

The Seacrest Foundation has already opened nine studios inside pediatric health care centers.

Seacrest is slated to host the final season of "American Idol" beginning next month.
