When it comes to "American Idol's" most successful alums, Adam Lambert might not be mentioned in the same breath as Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, but he's not too far off.

For one thing, the glam-rocker with an incredibly wide vocal range was chosen by Queen to be their lead singer on their 2014 tour. That's on top of a solo recording career that has remained a success despite some potential pitfalls.

He left record label RCA in 2013 because of creative differences, but quickly found a home with Warner Bros., and the resulting dancefloor-ready album, "The Original High," debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard albums chart last year.

Lambert returns to Nashville's Ryman Auditorium on March 10. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $35-$60.
