Country legend Lynn Anderson was arrested overnight in Nashville and charged with DUI.

Police arrested Anderson after she was involved in a crash around 9 p.m. Thursday on West End Avenue. The responding officer said she showed "signs of impairment," according to her arrest warrant.

She admitted to drinking alcohol and taking prescription medication, the warrant said.

Anderson shot to fame with the song "Rose Garden" in 1970. Her recording won a Grammy the following year. She was named female vocalist of the year by the Country Music Association in 1971.

Anderson, 66, was released from jail this morning on $5,000 bond, according to Metro jail officials. She is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 20.

In a statement sent by her manager, Michael Dempsy, Anderson said she was "deeply sorry for anyone that I have harmed along this path."

"I apologize for the choices I made and subsequent actions on Thursday evening that ultimately resulted in the accident," the statement read. "By the grace of God, I am very grateful that no one was injured as a result. I am committed to the accountable steps that I will be facing on the road to recovery."

She was previously charged with DUI in 2004 in Denton, Texas, after police found her passed out in her car on the shoulder of a highway.
