The Titans targeted second-year pro Justin Hunter 10 times during Sunday's loss to the Eagles, but came away with only four connections for 64 yards and a touchdown.

Hunter is known for his spectacular leaping ability, but it appeared Sunday that he mistimed his leaps on at least a couple of occasions, resulting in incomplete passes.

"It sure looked that way a couple of times," coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "That happens sometimes. But that's all part of growing and learning. He's a young receiver."

Doesn't jumping for the football, Whisenhunt was asked, need to be something Hunter does well given his athletic ability?

"That depends," the coach said. "There's all kinds of factors. I don't know if you could qualify that as something that has to be a factor for him."

Hunter has 27 catches for 480 yards and three touchdowns this season, averaging almost 18 yards per reception. But he has been targeted 62 times, meaning the ratio of catches to targets is about 44 percent – lowest in the league among receivers who've played at least half their team's snaps, per Pro Football Focus.

"Justin is a young receiver that's made some plays for us this year," Whisenhunt said. "As with some young receivers, there have been some opportunities where he probably could have played better, just like there's been a lot of calls I could have made better this year. That's all a process of going through this together."
