Kid Rock's 911 call: 'I need an ambulance'
Metro police on Tuesday released the 911 call made by Robert Ritchie better known as Kid Rock, after the singer discovered the body of his assistant Michael Sacha, 30, Monday in the driveway of his sprawling Nashville estate.
"I need an ambulance," Ritchie frantically tells a female dispatcher during the 11:32 a.m. phone call to Metro Nashville police and fire dispatch. "I think my assistant looks to be dead from a Polaris accident...There's a body lying next to it."
“Can you repeat the address? the dispatcher asks. "Your phone appears to be broken up."
At some point, an unidentified female gets on the line and says she and Richie were headed to the airport when they found Sacha.
"We woke up, and he wasn’t in the house and we came to look for him," the woman says. "It’s not like him not to be up early. Oh my God, can you just please send somebody. He’s off to the side of the driveway... We have an ATV, we heard the engine running. It’s in the trees and it’s still running. We didn’t touch anything. I can’t look but he appears to be dead.
The dispatcher asks the woman to check and see if Sacha is still breathing.
"I don’t want to look but I don’t think he’s alive," the woman said.
Ritchie and a friend found Sacha on an embankment late Monday morning, Metro police said.
Brian Haas, public information officer with the Nashville Fire Department, said they responded to the call on Knight Drive and found a man lying face down on the side of a driveway. The man, later identified as Sacha, was already deceased by the time the fire department arrived.
Sacha is believed to have died after ferrying guests on the ATV to a cookout on Rock's Whites Creek estate to an Uber at the property's driveway around midnight Monday, Metro police said. He apparently lost control of the vehicle and crashed on his way back to the residence, police said.
In a statement, Rock said he is "beyond devastated."
