Titans training camp preview: Cornerbacks
Titans beat writers Jason Wolf and John Glennon are analyzing the roster as the team prepares for training camp, which begins July 30.
CORNERBACKS
Hello: Antwon Blake (free agent), Brice McCain (free agent), Bennett Okotcha (undrafted free agent), Kalan Reed (draft), LeShaun Sims (draft)
Goodbye: Brandon Harris, Coty Sensabaugh
The big story: This was an area of concern last year. Injuries limited Jason McCourty to just four games, and the starting duo of McCourty and Perrish Cox played just one complete game together. Sensabaugh was up-and-down as the nickel back. The Titans hope that a healthy McCourty and Cox, as well as several new faces, will make a difference. McCain, who had a solid season with Dolphins last year, is the new nickel back. Two draft picks — LeShaun Sims (fifth round) and Kalan Reed (seventh) — should provide depth. Blake is expected to make an impact on special teams.

On the hot seat: A third-round draft pick in 2013, Blidi Wreh-Wilson may well find himself battling for a roster spot. Wreh-Wilson started 10 games in 2014, but struggled last year, surrendering too many big plays and failing to knock passes away when he was in position to do so. He was inactive for six games, including the last four of the season. Wreh-Wilson will face competition not only from the players listed above, but other teammates who moved ahead of him last year like B.W. Webb and Cody Riggs.
Worth keeping an eye on: As the last overall pick in the draft, Reed earned the Mr. Irrelevant title, but he made a good impression during the offseason. Titans coach Mike Mularkey complimented Reed’s awareness on the field and said he was always around the ball. Pro Football Focus had been a fan of Reed’s before the draft, as it had him rated as the 54th-best overall prospect available.
