Metro police on Wednesday arrested a woman at the Nashville International Airport after they discovered nearly 45 pounds of marijuana in two suitcases.

File photo: Florence "Flo" Matheson, a Democratic candidate running for Congress, is facing an indictment for her involvement in a marijuana growing operation discovered in a barn on her property in Crossville.

Officers responded to the airport to assist the Drug Enforcement Administration after a police dog outed the presence of drugs in two bags that arrived on an an incoming flight, authorities said.

According to an arrest warrant, 23-year-old Juneequa Smith picked up the luggage off a belt at the airport and was detained by agents.

The warrant does not say what city Smith traveled to Nashville from.

When Smith allowed agents to search the bags, authorities said they found 37 vacuum sealed packages weighing 44.5 pounds.

Depending on the grade of the marijuana, current drug prices provided by Metro police show it's valued at anywhere between $122,375 to $200,250.

Officers arrested Smith on suspicion of felony drug charges and, as of Thursday morning, she remained incarcerated on $50,000 bond at the Metro jail.
