Missing DeKalb County child found in Michigan, parents charged

An 8-month-old from DeKalb County who was the subject of an endangered child alert was found Friday night in Flint, Michigan with his parents who are in custody.

Xavier Billings was last seen Nov. 10, with parents Andrew Billings, 29, and Adriana Billings, 19, who allegedly fled the scene of an auto accident in which a mobile methamphetamine lab was found in their vehicle, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Andrew Billings and Adriana Billings will be extradited back to DeKalb County on charges of aggravated child abuse and initiation of methamphetamine manufacture process, police said.

After the accident the Tennessee High Patrol trooper obtained information that the child may have a medical condition and notified the Department of Children's Services.

"We were able to gather information as to the whereabouts of the Billings family," DeKalb County Sheriff Patrick Ray said. "We were able to obtain a name and address of where the Billings family might be staying. We immediately contacted the Flint Police Department and in return, they were able to locate these individuals there."

Xavier Billings was placed in protective custody by the Michigan Department of Children Services and the Tennessee Department of Children's Services has been notified, according to Ray.
