1. Battle of Nashville 152nd Anniversary at Fort Negley, all weekend 

Described as a "living history" event, attendees will get to experience small arms, artillery and signal corps demonstrations, meet President Lincoln, General George Thomas and others from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be presentations in the theater.

Fort Negley is located at 1100 Fort Negley Blvd. in Nashville.

Free. 

2. Join the Santa rampage in Nashville, Saturday

Basically, this is an opportunity to dress as Santa Claus with thousands of others in Nashville and enjoy drinks to keep you warm, too. The event is from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. at various locations.

Don't miss the 8 p.m. photo shoot at the Nashville Christmas tree with all the other Santas and helpers.

3. Porter Flea Holiday Market, Saturday

Fans say it's like Etsy in person. Check out local, handmade and unique gifts at your leisure from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Once again featuring a vibrant and varied mix of modern handmade goods, from clothing and jewelry to art and home goods, this year’s Holiday Flea will be held at East Nashville’s Skyway Studios on Dickerson Pike, according to the Facebook event.

4. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus XTREME, all weekend

The circus is coming to Bridgestone Arena. Considered one of America's favorite family experiences, "the Greatest Show on Earth" starts on Thursday and continues through Sunday. Times are at 7 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday.

5. Dickens of a Christmas in Franklin, Saturday and Sunday 

The largest Christmas festival — in its 32nd year — in Middle Tennessee returns 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. It’s hosted by the Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County. Expect more than 200 musicians, dancers and folks in character including several from Charles Dickens' stories. Attendees are encouraged to arrive decked in holiday style.

Admission is free. 

6. Lightning 100’s Festivus charity show with Third Eye Blind, Saturday

The Annual Festivus charity show at Marathon Music Works benefits the Salvation Army. This show is themed after a famous episode of "Seinfeld" known as "The Strike."

Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m.

Tickets range from $10.01 to $25. 18 and up.

7. Enjoy electronic tap dancing at Oz Arts Nashville, Friday and Saturday

OZ Arts Nashville hosts tap dancer-choreographer Michelle Dorrance at 8 p.m. along with Nicholas Van Young for ETM: Double Down. The performance will be based on percussive electronic tap boards designed by Young.

The New York Times described ETM: Double Down as a “fresh and innovative show,” writing, “The distinction between dancer and musician, between electronic and acoustic, fades. When ETM: Double Down is rocking, Dorrance Dance is one big band.”

OZ Arts is located at 6172 Cockrill Bend Circle.

Tickets are $69.

8. Fund classroom projects with Wrappy Hour at Loews, Friday

There will be a special "wrappy hour" at Mason Bar in the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel from 4 - 8 p.m. Special prices on appetizers and cocktails will be set while "elves" wrap gifts. All proceeds benefit DonorsChoose.org and will fund local public school classroom projects, according to a spokeswoman.

The hotel is located at 2100 West End Ave.

It's free to attend, and gift-wrapping is complimentary. Additional donations will be accepted. 

9. Open mic/book swap with the Porch Collective, Friday

Writers, be aware! The holiday season open mic and open house will start at 6 p.m. at The Skillery with readings beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Bring an unwrapped book to swap with another bibliophile.

If you want to read, plan to read for no more than 5 minutes, according to the Facebook event.

The Skillery is located at 1323 6th Ave. N. in Nashville.

10. Celebrate International Human Rights Day, Saturday

There will be a march to mark International Human Rights Day in Nashville from 2-3:30 p.m. starting at the Public Square to mark the day. Learn more by reading the Facebook event.

11. Cheer on the Titans as they take on the Broncos, Sunday

The Tennessee Titans will face the Denver Broncos at noon at Nissan Stadium.
