Chris Stapleton, Chris Young and Amy Grant are on the growing list of celebrities pledging performance time to Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefit for the My People Fund.

Dolly Parton lines up Reba, Kenny Rogers, more for telethon

Parton announced the My People Fund in the immediate aftermath of the wildfires that swept through her native Sevier County last week, killing 14 people and damaging or destroying well over 2,500 structures.

The fund provides $1,000 a month for six months to Sevier County families whose primary residences were left uninhabitable or were completely destroyed by the blaze.

Other artists on the telethon include previously announced Reba McEntire, Kenny Rogers and Alison Krauss as well as Big & Rich, Michael W. Smith, LOCASH, Chris Janson and Montgomery Gentry.

“I’m truly honored that these artists are giving their time and energy to help us raise money for everyone affected by the wildfires,” Parton said in a statement. “I’ve got so many great friends in the industry, and I’m so proud that they were so ready to step up and help me help my people in the Smoky Mountains through this telethon and the My People Fund.”

A pre-application for the My People Fund for those affected by the fire is available at dollywoodfoundation.org.
