Nashville $10 lunch: I Love Juice Bar — The Gulch
The I Love Juice Bar isn’t a place I’d normally check out for lunch, but with me trying to start 2017 in a healthy state of body and mind (cliche, I know), I decided to take up the recommendations I’ve received.
The funny thing is, I didn’t get juice — I ordered the pad thai noodles. Before you roll your eyes, let me tell you — it was GOOD. And it wasn’t just any pad thai. It was concocted from sweet potato noodles sprinkled in sesame seeds, given a savory taste from carrots, cucumber, spinach, cilantro, garlic and cashews in a peanut sauce (gluten free)!
I ordered online, walked down 11th Avenue South, was greeted with a smile (and steamy pad thai noodles in an adorable container). They were expecting me, and my order was on the screen. I grabbed my cutlery and napkins and headed back to work. This took all of 15 minutes, and that’s because I was walking. Their service is quick, but if you don’t want to walk there is free one-hour parking for customers right next door. And I only paid $6.50 for lunch!
You probably want to know — would I eat it again? Absolutely, yes, a thousand times yes.

Speed: Fast. I easily ordered online, and when I arrived I was in and out in less than five minutes.
Ambiance: Since The Tennessean has proximity to Broadway and the Gulch, this was an easy place to get to. I walked (about six minutes to get there) and crossed the street without much trouble. If you prefer driving, the Juice Bar has one-hour parking available right next door.
Recommendation: I wanted a light lunch, so this is all I ordered. However, it probably would be great to add soup or spring rolls — or juice.
